Our Karate School

My name is Ron Joslin and I have a Master's degree in the art of Isshinryu Karate from Okinawa Japan. Along with my wife, Nuttah (Nut-ta) Joslin, a second-degree black belt and I ran two of the largest schools in the country in California, now Cape Coral FL.  Adult karate classes are known for benefits like self-discipline, fitness and self-defense skills. I owe a debt or gratitude to my teacher, Grandmaster Willy Adams who I have been under for 47 years. We have guided hundreds of people to the rank of black belt, it’s one of the our greatest achievements.

 I’ve been inducted into two karate Hall of Fame Associations, the American Okinawan Karate Association, and the International Isshinryu Karate Association Hall of Fame headed by Master Angi Uezu from Okinawa. 

I have taught  in public schools in Rocklin CA, private schools in Roseville, CA and my own martial arts schools.. Our family moved to Cape Coral in 2017 and opened Cape Coral Karate to our community here for everyone. .

Ms. Nutta Joslin was instrumental in the success of our karate school in California. She managed the front office, the scheduling, new student enrollments, and helped with the curriculum. Ms Joslin also taught adult karate classes and managed special events. Things like our annual picnic, the annual award ceremony dinner, and the big show, the black belt extravaganza. She also managed the KIAI Association national events, in places like Disney World, Japan town San Francisco New Orleans, and Reno Nevada, to name a few. All that is quite a résumé and a job that would keep anybody busy. She is also a second-degree black belt in the art of Isshinryu Karate and a tournament champion, winning the Grand Nationals Tournament, in both forms and sparring in the black belt division. I am proud to have Ms Joslin represent our school.

      We focus on three areas, Self-discipline, confidence and the fitness & defense skills taught in a professional karate school.
      As teachers, we need to become like the old gold miners. A gold miner will often need to move tons of dirt to find a single nugget of gold. They didn't go out looking for dirt. When teaching at Cape Coral Karate we look for the good qualities in our students (the nuggets of gold) and make sure we point out all the improvements we see. We make sure we praise the kids in front of others who then join in on the celebration.  We are not looking for dirt.  

We are a Black Belt school, we are dedicated, we are motivated, & we are on a quest to be our best!
